Panama will import 10,000 quintals of onions in December

The Potato and Onion Agrifood Chain approved in consensus the import of 10 thousand quintals of onions in addition to the 35 thousand previously authorized for next December, which will complement the national production affected by the indirect effects of hurricanes Eta and Iota.

The containers would be arriving in Panama on December 17 to supply the market on Christmas and New Year's Eve. The measure was adopted during a virtual meeting where they proposed that by December the consumption of the product will increase, so it is necessary to guarantee the number one seasoning of Panamanians for food preparation.
