Roberto has been specializing in Intellectual Property at Cedeño & Méndez since he began his legal career in 2001 as a Legal Assistant. Graduated in Law and Political Science Magna Cum Laude at Santa Maria La Antigua Catholic University of Panama City (2007), holds a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property and Technological Law (IP LL.M. 08) from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri (2008) and a specialization in Intellectual Property from the University of Castilla La Mancha in Toledo, Spain (2009). From 2013 to 2018, he taught the course "Introduction to Intellectual Property in the United States", at the Sergio Arboleda University of Bogota, Colombia.
From 2008 to 2018 he was Director of the Intellectual Property Department of Cedeño &Mendez, and from 2019 he also held the position of Managing Partner of the legal unit. His practice focuses on Competition Law and Consumer Protection, Intellectual Property and Corporate Law.
He is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), member of the Trademark Committee of the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI) and member of the Board of Directors of the Panamanian Intellectual Property Law Association (APADEPI). He is also a member of the National Bar Association of Panama and the Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture.
