Roberto has more than 15 years advising on Intellectual Property, Competition Law and Consumer Affairs, and Corporate Law
He is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) – a member of the Bureau Committee 2022-2023; a member of the Trademark Committee of the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI); and a member of the Board of Directors of the Panamanian Association of Intellectual Property Law (APADEPI). He is also a member of the National Bar Association of Panama and the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama.
Roberto holds a Bachelor of Law and Political Science degree in honor of Magna Cum Laude, Santa Maria La Antigua Catholic University (Panama - 2007), a Master of Intellectual Property and Technological Law (IP LL.M) from Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri - 2008). And a specialization in Intellectual Property from the University of Castilla La Mancha (Toledo, Spain - 2009). Also, he was a professor at the Sergio Arboleda University of Bogotá, Colombia, from 2013 to 2018 in the subject of "Introduction to Intellectual Property in the United States".
He has been part of Cedeno & Mendez since 2001, where he began his experience in Intellectual Property as Legal Assistant and since 2008 he has been managing this unit. Since 2019 he has also held the position of Managing Partner of the Legal Unit.
